We will review the scientific case for emotionally intelligent leadership, particularly as it manifests in the educational setting. And a panoply of programs offer a menu for creating social and emotional learning, and so improving achievement test scores as well as behavior.
You will learn the role of self-awareness in managing your own career, and experience practical tools for self-regulation that can help you stay calm under pressure and clear in your decision-making. You will also review the science of empathy and how it enhances a leader’s influence, and practice a workout for creating psychological safety and trust in your school’s culture.
